Tom Nehring was the Director of the Division of Emergency Medical Systems within the North Dakota Department of Health until June 30, 2017. He had been with the Division for seven and a half years following his lengthy tenure as a Vice President for Medcenter One in Bismarck, ND and as CEO for several clinics and a long-term care facility. Tom has a wide variety of experience in healthcare, starting out as a paramedic in Emergency Medical Service early on and spending most of his career in EMS, hospital, clinic and long-term care administration. Tom has experience in management positions as well as in establishing statewide systems of care across the state of North Dakota. As North Dakota is primarily a rural state, Tom has gained considerable expertise in rural healthcare in the state as well as nationally.
